Deliciously trashy, this guilty pleasure makes for addictive viewing. Combining softcore erotica, horror and soap opera, Dante's Cove is one of the most pleasurable surprises to cross our desk in some time.
The first season of this series starts in the late nineteenth century as Grace (Scoggins) is on a stroll with her fine fiancé Ambrosius (Lee). Grace catches another woman eyeing her man and using her witch powers she burns the woman alive. Back at the house Ambrosius convinces his bride-to-be that he's not interested in any other woman. With that said the minute she's out the door his lips are wrapped around his servant's hungry cock. But alas Grace forgot her lovely lacy gloves and interrupts the lovers. She vaporizes the servant (too bad, he has a massive organ) and chains her lover up in the basement with a curse. She makes him old before his time and places a mirror in front of his face. And here's the clincher, he stays old and chained up until he kisses a pretty boy again. Fast forward to now where Toby (David) is sharing a final bedroom scene with his lover Kevin (Michael). It's hot and steamy on the set (they have quite a supply of misters on this set) as the give themselves an evening to remember. Kevin leaves and there's plenty of soapy drama with the folks, but suffice it to that Kevin follows his lover to the Hotel Dante in Dante's Cove. This is the home once occupied by Grace and her fiancé Ambrosius who now haunt the house. There's a whole cast of sexy roommates, including some hot lesbians for dyke soap lovers. So to welcome Toby there's a big blowout. He's sent down to the basement where he hears a moaning under a locked trap door. He opens the trap door and lo and behold Ambrosius is still hanging by hooks from the ceiling. He manages to convince Toby to unlock him and then he kisses the hottie on the lips. Voila the curse is broken and gay Ambrosius is on the loose. You're going to need to buy this to learn what happens next. Suffice it to say that there will be plenty of skin, scary stuff and soap opera drama.

Adam, now a recovered cocaine addict, finds himself in an emergency room with his beloved pet dog, whom he has accidentally stabbed. As fate (and movie logic) would have it, Steve is the doctor assigned to treat him. Though they don't initially remember one another, the magnetic pull has remained, and the two find themselves building a relationship. Meanwhile, Adam's best friend Rhonda (the always delightful indie queen Parker Posey), dumpy and obese in high school, who has transformed herself into a stylish and thin stand-up comic, begins a relationship with Steve's straight housemate, Michael (former Saturday Night Live regular Chris Kattan). The road to lasting love is, of course, filled with potholes. Misunderstandings, strange relatives, fear, and doubt all crystallise into dramatic plot points, both humorous and serious. One of the most hysterical scenes occurs the first time Steve dines with Adam's family, a group of accident-prone Jews, each of whom is nursing a different injury. All four leads are charming, and choreographed dance sequences delight with their modernisation of a classic generic style.

It's Halloween night and, despite the news of a grisly double beheading of two guys tricking in the park, four gay friends prepare for a wild night of partying at the raucous Carnival being held nearby the crime scene. Out for a night on the town are gorgeous but insecure Eddie (newcomer Dylan Fergus) dressed as a cop; his butch cowboy hat-wearing buddy Chaz (Andrew Levitas); the young Joey (Hank Harris), scantily-clad and chained as a sex slave; and the leggy Tobey (Matt Phillips), dolled-up as a slutty big-haired gal. They wander the hunk-filled streets and sweat-drenched clubs, and Eddie meets the boy of his dreams — the sultry, motorcycling Jake (Bryan Kirkwood. They remain oblivious, however, to the lurking danger of the devilish killer stalking their every move. Oblivious, that is, until the killer’s sickle starts chopping away at them! Who lives, who gets it (and remember, characters in horror films should never have hot ‘n heavy sex — it only infuriates the sexually frustrated villain!) are slowly revealed in this vastly entertaining flick which will keep you on the edge of your seats.

2 SECONDS

She meet Lorenzo (Dino Tavarone), who was himself a racing champion in his day (the 60s). For the first time, Laurie's knowledge and perceptions of cycling are questioned. Over time a friendship and an understanding develop between the ex-champions, and they even discover that they have similar tastes in women!
